Novel Grapes: My Year with Eleanor

Book Nerds and Wine Lovers, welcome backi to Novel Grapes: the Online Chapter. I hope you enjoyed our latest read My Year with Eleanor: A Memoir by Noelle Hancock  I absolutely enjoyed the read and found myself inspired by the adventures and truly wanting to learn more about Eleanor Roosevelt.  Through the course of the month, I said YES to Belly Dancing, NIA Dance classes and Hula Hooping while pressing purchase on 2 flights to ITALY for my sister and me.  New experiences have rocked me and travel adventures are in my very near future!

Thus, I highly recommend this read!

And as always, I wanted to share the questions we discussed this week from the local Novel Grapes:  A Book Club with Wine.  Grab a glass of wine and comment in the comment section and let’s start a conversation:

1)       How did you relate to Noelle Hancock?   (fear, courage, doting parents, self-doubt, adventure, transition in life from a personality you were to one that  you are today)….discuss.

2)      What adventures do you have planned or what is an adventure can you plan to live do one thing a day that scares you.  NOTE:  Life starts at the end of your comfort zone.

3)      Noelle and Matt.  Let’s talk about it.  Was it her own image that got in the way, her own fears and self doubts?  Was he too much?   How is this showing up in your life?  #relationships

4)      Eleanor Roosevelt is the bee’s knees!  Are you inspired by her?  What was your favorite experience or quote shared about her?  (Remember the flight with Amelia, the flight with the African-American soldier, her trips to the hospital, found love of the Jewish people and fight for Israel, her poise when handling Franklin…).

Our next book to read will be gearing us up for the movie release:  The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald.   We are also reading:  Gone Girl, by Gillian Flynn.  Read with us!
